Have a listen:
http://home1.gte.net/res0658s/gatemanpoly_bell_lin_expo.wav
This is a sample of two strikes of a bell sound, the first uses linear release, the second uses
exponential release. There is a marked difference, especially near the end of the fade out.
For those interested...
The bell sound was constructed using 4 oscillators:
waveform semitones offset
----------------------------------
sine 0
triangle 19
sine 24
sine 36
There is a bit of fine tune offset of each of the oscillators to force them a bit off of an exact
harmonic.
I will be placing ver_n of GateManPoly/8 on the wiki today or tomorrow. I will probably make some
little musical invention using this sound and include it with the ver_n code as well as the wave
file above since it is so demonstrative of this principle.
