I recall seeing some emails about the process on SDIY a few months back
which sounded rather involved. I think Paul Schreiber mentioned lots of
complicated forms & etc required to keep things from ending up in limbo,
but this seems pretty simple.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

a) It's hard to declare $3500 of assembled MOTM modules as a 'gift'

b) The main issue I had is sending a few CEM chips as 'commercial sample'
and declaring a zero value. Stuff was getting sent back to me all the time
undelivered.

c) The following has worked 100% to all countries

#1 - declare it as OTHER on the green form
#2 - for description (in Eric's case) use PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD
# 3 - declare a $10 value
#4 - Use this code (called the HS tariff): 8534.4 (there is a period between
the 4's)
#5 next to this, write USA so as

8534.4 USA

#6 - you MUST have a piece of paper (I use Microsoft Publisher) on the
outside
in a pouch (I use a 'Invoice Enclosed' from www.uline.com) with the wordss
PRO FORMA INVOICE, with

#1 - your name/address
#2 - ship to name/address
#1 - a $10 invoice with the EXACT name and HS tariff as on the green form
so like this

1ea PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD [8534.4] $10

This sounds like a lot, but I do this 10 times a week so it's sort of
automatic and
it *always* works.
