Ouch!

Bear in mind that Avnet charged me $13 shipping and the warehouse is 
about 10 miles from my house. They could have dropped it in parcel-post 
for $5 and it would have gotten here just as fast. I'm guessing that 
conserving costs on shipping isn't a priority for them.

To your other point, I have little experience with international 
shipping so I don't know what it would cost. This device is very small 
though, so a reinforced/padded envelope should suffice. I've shipped 
stuff larger than this to AU for around $10 so I wouldn't think it'll be 
too awful.

Good question though. I'll check it out when I've got more commitments 
(7 so far).
