[Fpga-synth] XP - ISE 9.2i Minor Success

I got reply on the webcase, the engineer asked me to configre the chain
manually. That worked, and I was able to send the data to the board. And
it doesn't work any better than what 8.2i did.
So I'm still not sure where the problem really lies, my code or theirs,
though I've never abandoned the idea that it's mine.
I've done more testing of the design, one thing I did was to change the DAC
source from the pickup to the actual address value used to access the RAM
for the delay line. This yields a sawtooth - and the frequency is constant
no matter where I put the pickup. I'm trying to think of other tests like
that in the hope that one of them will show me exactly what is causing this
weirdness. I've also played "rearrange the code a different way" many
times to no avail.
-- Oh yes, under XP now, every time I start ISE and run the project, I get
"Windows found new hardware" dialogs (2 or 3) calling out different Xilinx
USB components. I seem to remember others having this happen - is there a
solution to this? It does NOT happen with Win2K...
